Neptune supports open discussions about elections while ensuring that misleading or deceptive content that could cause real-world harm is not promoted. Users are encouraged to verify election-related claims through credible sources and make informed decisions.

If you find content that violates this policy, report it within Neptune. If you believe misleading election content is causing harm, contact relevant election authorities.

 

Neptune does not allow content that includes the following:

Voter Suppression

  • False information about voting procedures, eligibility, locations, or deadlines that could materially discourage participation in democratic elections.
  • False claims that individuals cannot vote based on protected attributes (e.g., race, religion, gender).

Candidate Eligibility Misinformation

  • False claims regarding a candidate’s eligibility based on age, citizenship, or legal status, as defined by applicable national law.
  • Misleading claims about an elected official’s ability to serve due to false allegations about citizenship, death, or other ineligibilities.

Interference with Democratic Processes

  • Encouraging or instructing others to interfere with or disrupt the electoral process, including voting procedures, ballot counting, or certification of election results.
  • Content that glorifies, promotes, or encourages election-related violence against candidates, voters, or election officials.

Election Integrity Misinformation

  • False claims that widespread election fraud, vote tampering, or counting errors determined the outcome of a past certified election.
  • Misattributing past election footage or incidents as current events to mislead voters.

 

Educational, Documentary, Scientific, or Artistic (EDSA) Content

Neptune allows discussion of election topics when content is clearly educational, documentary, scientific, or artistic in nature. However, this is not a pass to spread election misinformation.

To qualify as EDSA content:

  • The purpose of the content must be clear and should not mislead the audience.
  • Content condemning, disputing, or satirizing misinformation may be allowed with proper context.
  • Historical election discussions, election law analysis, and critiques of election procedures must be based on verified sources.

Examples of Acceptable Content:
✔ Reporting on election security issues using verified data from credible sources.
✔ Personal opinions about elections that do not mislead voters or contradict verified information.
✔ Documentaries covering past election controversies with balanced perspectives and expert sources.

Examples of Content That Violates This Policy:
✘ Claiming that certain voter groups are not allowed to vote based on misinformation.
✘ False claims that a candidate won an election that was officially certified otherwise.
✘ Encouraging violence or disrupting democratic processes such as ballot counting or certification.

Livestreams vs. Static Content

Allowed on Livestreams

  • Discussions about election policies, voting experiences, and political opinions.
  • Educational or news coverage of elections that follow Neptune’s misinformation guidelines.

Prohibited on Livestreams

  • Live promotion of election misinformation, such as false claims about fraud, voter suppression, or election results.
  • Calls to interfere with democratic processes or encourage violence related to elections.

All livestreams must comply with Neptune’s guidelines, and violations may result in immediate suspension of livestreaming privileges.

 

Enforcement and Consequences

  • Content violating this policy will be removed, and users will be notified.
  • Repeat violations may result in strikes or account suspensions.
  • Severe violations, such as encouraging election-related violence or voter suppression, may lead to immediate account termination.
  • Neptune reserves the right to remove accounts or content that repeatedly spread harmful election misinformation.
