Neptune allows content discussing, demonstrating, or educating about alcohol. Clear restrictions are in place to ensure content does not promote irresponsible or illegal behavior.
General Guidelines
- All alcohol-related content must be tagged as 18+ using Neptune’s content tagging system.
- The sale, promotion, or facilitation of alcohol purchases is prohibited. This includes links to retailers, affiliate codes, or direct calls to action for alcohol sales.
- Educational and documentary content about alcohol is allowed, such as the history of alcohol, brewing or distilling processes, or cultural and social discussions.
- Responsible alcohol consumption is allowed in posted content but must not glorify excessive drinking or dangerous behaviors.
- Content encouraging or depicting underage drinking, binge drinking, or dangerous consumption methods is strictly prohibited.
Alcohol Use in Livestreams
- Alcohol consumption during livestreams is permitted if conducted responsibly and does not encourage or glorify excessive or unsafe drinking practices.
- No games, challenges, or stunts involving alcohol (e.g., drinking contests, dares) are allowed on livestreams.
- No minors may appear on camera in alcohol-related livestreams, even in a non-drinking capacity.
- Live promotion or giveaways of alcohol products, brands, or retailers is prohibited.
- No visible alcohol branding or packaging is allowed during livestreams.
- Conversations about alcohol should remain general (e.g., discussing cultural traditions, cocktails, or industry trends).
Additional Restrictions for Livestreams
- Livestreams must not show visible intoxication or reckless behavior involving alcohol.
- Explicit discussions of drinking to cope with emotions or glamorizing alcohol dependence are prohibited.
Alcohol Use in Posted Content
Neptune allows broader discussions about alcohol in posted content, provided it follows these guidelines:
- Educational, historical, and cultural content about alcohol is allowed, such as videos about brewing, winemaking, or the role of alcohol in specific traditions.
- Content about responsible alcohol use, pairings, and recipes is permitted.
- Explicit consumption of alcohol in posted content is allowed, as long as it does not encourage binge drinking or dangerous behavior.
- Content depicting excessive drinking, intoxicated behavior, or irresponsible alcohol use (e.g., driving under the influence) is prohibited.
- No instructional content on creating homemade alcohol intended for high-proof consumption (e.g., moonshine) is allowed.
Exceptions for Posted Content
- Scientific or documentary content discussing alcohol dependency, its risks, and prevention strategies is permitted, provided it is presented with appropriate context.
- Artistic or fictional portrayals of alcohol use may be allowed if clearly identified as entertainment and not promoting dangerous consumption.
- Discussions of alcohol laws and regulations are permitted.
Prohibited Content
Neptune strictly prohibits content involving:
- Underage drinking or depictions of minors consuming alcohol.
- Encouraging or glamorizing binge drinking, intoxication, or alcohol dependency.
- Content promoting alcohol as a solution to problems or glorifying irresponsible use.
- Dangerous stunts, challenges, or activities involving alcohol.
- Unsupervised or risky alcohol manufacturing processes (e.g., distillation without safety measures).
Enforcement and Penalties
- If your content violates this policy, it will be removed, and you will receive a notification.
- Livestream violations may result in restrictions, including the loss of livestreaming privileges.
- Repeated violations may result in account strikes or permanent suspension.
- Severe violations involving underage drinking, dangerous activities, or sales may result in immediate account termination.
Neptune reserves the right to review, restrict, or remove content that does not comply with federal laws, app store policies, or our Community Guidelines. If you believe your content was removed in error, you may appeal the decision.
Reporting Violations
If you find content that violates this policy, you can report it directly within Neptune. If you believe someone is engaging in illegal activity or is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement.
