Marijuana, Smoking, and Cannabis-Related Content

Neptune allows discussions and educational content about marijuana while ensuring compliance with federal law and app store guidelines. While certain forms of cannabis content are permitted, we maintain clear restrictions on promotion, sales, and explicit consumption to remain in compliance.

General Guidelines

  • All content related to marijuana must be tagged as 18+ using Neptune’s content tagging system.
  • The sale, promotion, or facilitation of marijuana purchases is strictly prohibited, including dispensary links, affiliate codes, or product endorsements.
  • Educational, documentary, scientific, and artistic content is allowed, as long as it does not encourage illegal activity or violate app store guidelines.
  • Discussions about marijuana use, laws, history, medical applications, and advocacy are permitted, provided they do not promote illegal activities or sales.
  • No content may show, teach, or encourage the manufacturing, extraction, or modification of cannabis products, including homemade THC concentrates, edibles, or oils.

Smoking and Marijuana Use in Livestreams

  • Smoking is allowed on livestreams, but users may not explicitly state, imply, or confirm that the substance being smoked is cannabis.
  • Users may not refer to strain names, THC content, dispensaries, or the effects of marijuana while smoking on a livestream.
  • No rolling, grinding, preparing, or visibly handling cannabis products or paraphernalia is allowed on livestreams.
  • No promotional content, giveaways, or sales of cannabis products may occur during a livestream.
  • Showing packaging, labels, or branded marijuana products is prohibited during livestreams.

Additional Restrictions for Livestreams

  • Conversations about cannabis use should remain general and non-explicit (e.g., discussing legalization efforts, industry trends, or medical research is permitted).
  • Explicit consumption of marijuana edibles, dabs, or concentrates is not allowed on livestreams.
  • Live Q&A or tutorials related to cannabis use are prohibited.

Smoking and Marijuana Use in Posted Content

Neptune allows broader discussions about cannabis in posted content, as long as it aligns with the following guidelines:

  • Educational and documentary content is allowed, including historical, medical, legal, or policy discussions.
  • Personal stories about marijuana use are permitted, provided they do not glorify, promote, or encourage use in a way that violates app store policies.
  • Content discussing harm reduction, cannabis regulation, or medical applications is permitted.
  • Explicit consumption of marijuana (smoking, vaping, dabbing, edible consumption) is not allowed in posted content.
  • Any content that includes instructions on how to grow, extract, manufacture, or distribute marijuana is prohibited.
  • Content with visuals of cannabis packaging, logos, branding, or dispensary promotions is not allowed.

Exceptions for Posted Content

  • Scientific research, medical discussions, and harm reduction information are allowed with appropriate context.
  • Cultural, historical, and policy discussions on marijuana are allowed but must remain educational in nature.
  • Artistic or fictional portrayals of cannabis use (e.g., film, animation, or music videos) may be allowed as long as the content is not promoting real-world use.

Enforcement and Penalties

  • If your content violates any of these policies, it will be removed, and you will receive a notification.
  • Livestream violations may result in account restrictions, including loss of live streaming privileges.
  • Repeated violations may result in account strikes or permanent suspension.
  • Severe violations involving sales, distribution, or explicit drug use may result in immediate account termination.

Neptune reserves the right to review, restrict, or remove content that does not comply with federal laws, app store policies, or our Community Guidelines. If you believe your content was removed in error, you may appeal the decision.

Reporting Violations

If you find content that violates this policy, you can report it directly within Neptune. If you believe someone is engaging in illegal activity or is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement.
