While we support creators sharing their stories, we do not allow content that promotes or glorifies suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders. Content that shocks, disgusts, or poses a risk to viewers is also prohibited.

Guidelines for Posting Mental Health Content

We encourage thoughtful and supportive discussions about mental health. However, to ensure the safety and well-being of all users, please follow these guidelines:

Prohibited Content

Do not post content that:

• Promotes or glorifies suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders.
• Provides instructions or methods for engaging in these behaviors.
• Targets minors with sensitive or harmful content.
• Displays graphic self-harm images or unblurred depictions of suicide victims.
• Includes challenges or pranks encouraging self-harm or suicidal behaviors.
• Contains weight-based bullying in the context of eating disorders.

Restricted Content

Certain content may be allowed on Neptune with restrictions, provided it is appropriately tagged as 18+. This includes content that meets one or more of the following criteria:

• Educational, Documentary, Scientific, or Artistic Content: Content discussing sensitive topics like suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders, presented with the intent to educate, inform, or create awareness.
• Public Interest: Content highlighting issues in the public interest, such as mental health awareness campaigns or news reports, with appropriate context.
• Blurred or Obscured Graphic Content: Content containing graphic elements must ensure that those elements are sufficiently blurred or obscured to avoid distressing viewers.
• Dramatizations or Scripted Content: This category includes animations, scripted content, video games, and music videos. Such content must provide clear context and avoid glamorizing or promoting harmful behaviors.

All restricted content must be tagged as 18+ to ensure it is only accessible to users of the appropriate age and to protect at-risk viewers.

Best Practices for Creators

When discussing topics like suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders, consider the following:

• Use supportive and recovery-focused language. Highlight prevention and share stories of hope.
  Include information about mental health resources and coping strategies in your content and descriptions.
• Avoid sensationalist language, dramatic visuals, or explicit details about methods or locations.
• Blur or obscure graphic content to protect viewers from distress.
• Focus on the impact of the disorder rather than the details of disordered behavior.

To further protect and support our community, Neptune may display the following features:

• Content Warnings: Videos discussing sensitive topics may display a warning before playback.
• Support Panels: Resources such as hotline numbers and links to crisis support organizations may appear below content related to mental health, suicide, or self-harm.

What Happens If Content Violates This Policy

If your content breaches this policy, it will be removed, and you will receive a notification of action taken. Additionally, if we are unable to verify the safety of any content you have posted, it may also be subject to removal. Any content that violates our guidelines, whether included in posts or metadata, may lead to the removal of that content and any related media.
