This article outlines the procedures for law enforcement agencies to request user data from Neptune, and Four Mile River Technologies. All requests must comply with applicable laws and regulations. Neptune is committed to cooperating with legitimate law enforcement requests from verified agencies while respecting the privacy of all users.

Neptune only replies to legitimate law enforcement agencies; the processes outlined in this article are not meant for users to gain access to information related to users, their accounts, or any data stored on our servers.

Neptune complies with all applicable laws and regulations regarding data and information requests. If we receive a valid court order or legal request for user information, we follow a clear and transparent process:

Verification: We verify the authenticity of the request to ensure it is lawful and legitimate.

Notification (where permitted): If the law allows, we notify the user whose information is being requested, allowing them to respond or contest the request.

Limited Scope: We only provide the specific information required by the court order, nothing more, to minimize data exposure.

Required Information

All documents and information related to the request should be included in the initial email to our legal team for review, to prevent delays in processing. Additional correspondence may delay a resolution.

Your initial email should have the following:

Official Law Enforcement Agency: Clearly identify the name and contact information of the requesting agency.

Case Information: Provide a case number, investigation details, and the name of the lead investigator.

Legal Instrument: Attach a copy of the valid legal instrument authorizing the data request (e.g., warrant, subpoena, court order).

User Information: Provide specific identifiers for the user(s) whose data is being requested. This may include usernames, full names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other unique identifiers. The more identifiers provided, the more efficiently Neptune can process the request. If the user's real identity is unknown, provide specific details about their activity or content that will allow Neptune to locate the account.

Data Requested: Clearly specify the types of data being requested. See the "Types of Data Available" section below for details.

Timeframe: Specify the timeframe for which data is being requested.

Return Method: Indicate the preferred method for receiving the data (e.g., secure file transfer, encrypted email). Provide contact information for the designated recipient.

Emergency Requests

If the request is time-sensitive due to an imminent threat to life or safety, clearly indicate "EMERGENCY REQUEST" at the start of the subject line, and explain the urgency before any other information in the email. Neptune will prioritize emergency scenarios ahead of other types of legal requests.

Types of Data Available

Neptune may possess the following types of user data, depending on the user's activity and privacy settings:

Basic Account Information: Username, Handles, full name (if provided), email address, phone number (if provided), date of birth (if provided), profile picture.

Profile Information: Bio, website URL, and other information the user provides in their profile.

Posts and Content: User-generated content, including text posts, images, videos, comments, and links shared.

Direct Messages: Private messages exchanged between users (with appropriate legal process).

Activity Logs: Information about user activity on the platform, such as login times, posts viewed, and interactions with other users.

IP Addresses: IP addresses associated with user logins and activity. IP address information may be subject to additional legal requirements, and a specific request for this data in legal documents, per our Privacy Policy.

Location Data: Location data shared by the user (if enabled).
